HFNJ Announces Partial Application Pause for Second Quarter of 2023
December 13, 2022The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey will be modifying its regular application procedures in the second quarter of 2023 and will not be accepting new applications for funding of new projects during that time.
The purpose of this pause is to allow the Foundation staff and trustees time to review and revise the Foundation’s current grantmaking process and focus.
Read below for specific details on the timing of the pause and which types of HFNJ grants will be affected.
Q&A On Second Quarter Applications Pause
- What are the different types of grants HFNJ awards, and which are affected by its pause in accepting applications in early 2023?
HFNJ awards four types of grants: new requests; renewal requests; presidential requests; and responses to requests for proposals (RFP). You can read about the different types of grants we award here. The temporary pause only affects new requests, which will not be considered in the second quarter. Renewal requests for projects that have already received HFNJ funding will continue to be considered on any regularly scheduled existing time frame. Presidential grant requests (requests for $25,000 or less for one-time or emergency needs) will also be considered. Presidential grant requests are accepted on a rolling basis, with no deadline. There will be no RFPs issued during this time. - What is the timeframe for this pause?
For the February 16, 2023, application deadline, only existing grant renewal requests will be accepted. Applications for new requests will not be accepted. Third quarter 2023 grant request will be due on May 26, 2023 and notification of approval sent on September 19, with payment made shortly thereafter. - Does the pause affect reporting and payments for ongoing grant projects?
The pause in accepting new applications does not affect the reporting and payment process for already-approved HFNJ grant projects. - Will any exceptions be made to this policy?
We may consider an application if the project is so time-sensitive that it cannot be put off for future consideration. Please contact the Grants Administrator. - Where can I go for more information?
