Sharpening Our Focus on Healthcare

Last month, we shared an important change in The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey’s (HFNJ) grantmaking focus in the years ahead. To better meet the tremendous need in the community for quality healthcare, HFNJ will now focus our resources to support medical and behavioral health services that are at the core to the Foundation’s mission.

The decision comes after much internal discussion by our Board of Trustees on how we can best marshal our limited resources to meet the urgent needs of the moment. Many nonprofit organizations we support face potential cuts in federal and state funding. While we realize that HFNJ’s limited funding can never replace public funds, as the only foundation in our community dedicated to healthcare, we see a critical need to support core medical and behavioral health services.

This sharpening of focus is just one of several strategies our trustees and staff have been reviewing on how to best support our community. We look forward to announcing more new developments and initiatives in the near future.
