HFNJ Welcomes Three New Board Members for 2023-24

The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey is excited to announce that Penina Barr, Jeffrey Braemer, and Pamela Fishman will join the Board of Trustees, starting in July 2023. The Foundation also thanks Rebecca Gold and Toby Fanburg for completing their terms of service on the Board.

Penina Barr lives in Short Hills with her husband and four children. She has spent the last 13 years as a trustee of the Jewish Women’s Foundation, serving on their executive board for eight of the 13 years, in addition to Co-Chairing for two of those years. Penina is the immediate past President of NCJW/Essex and continues to serve on their board, which she has been an advocate and active volunteer for over 20 years. Penina has a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University and a BS from Boston University.

Jeff Braemer is a past president and current trustee/council member (since 2001) of the Grotta Fund, which makes grants to better the health and wellbeing of older adults in northern NJ. He also serves on the boards of the Jewish Community Foundation and Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, and currently chairs their combined investment committee. Professionally, Jeff is a Director, Head of Client Services, and Partner at TimesSquare Capital (a fundamental, research-oriented, investment management firm specializing in growth equity strategies). He has a B.A. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.S. in Management from Boston University.

Pamela Fishman spent 7 years as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs before transitioning into the health care industry where she served as Vice President, Corporate Development at Medco Containment Services and then Senior Vice President, Corporate Development for WebMD until 2002. Pam has volunteered with Rachel Coalition since 2010 (serving in a variety of positions including Chair from 2018-2020). She joined the Board of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ in 2018 and has been actively involved, serving on the Executive, Budget & Finance, and the Audit committees for the last several years and will begin serving as Co-Treasurer in July 2023. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Business School.
